Accessibility Statement
We want the Oton Župančič Memorial House website to be usable without barriers by all visitors, regardless of their device, abilities or circumstances.
Our commitment
At the Oton Župančič Memorial House and the public institution RIC Bela krajina that manages it, we are committed to making this website accessible to all users in accordance with the Slovenian Act on the Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications (ZDSMA, Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, No. 30/18, as amended).
This statement applies to the entire Oton Župančič Memorial House website. The website is administered by the Bela Krajina Development and Information Centre, Ulica na utrdbah 18, 8340 Črnomelj.
Compliance status
This website is partially compliant with the Act on the Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications due to the exceptions listed below. We monitor accessibility regularly and continuously improve individual elements.
What the website offers
- responsive design that adapts the content layout to the screen size and orientation of the device;
- use of the entire website with a keyboard, with visible highlighting of the selected element;
- a “Skip to content” link at the beginning of every page;
- a meaningful heading structure and labelled page regions for easier use with screen readers;
- alternative text for photographs and illustrations that convey content;
- adequate colour contrast between text and background;
- zooming up to 200% without loss of content or functionality;
- respect for the system setting for reduced motion – animations are not played in that case;
- the option to pause automatically playing videos and moving content;
- descriptive page and link titles and predictable navigation;
- forms with visible field labels and clear error messages.
Non-accessible content
Despite our efforts, some content is not yet fully accessible. This includes:
- videos without subtitles or audio description;
- documents in PDF format, in particular scanned archival material, manuscripts and older publications;
- photographs of historical documents and manuscripts, where alternative text cannot fully replace the content;
- maps and other content from external providers, over whose accessibility we have no control.
Adapting all of the older archival material would represent a disproportionate burden. If you need any of this content in an accessible format, write to us – we will prepare it in a format that suits you.
Preparation of this accessibility statement
This statement was prepared on 2 October 2026 on the basis of a self-assessment carried out by the website administrator (the method set out in the first indent of point (a) of Article 3(1) of Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2018/1523).
The statement was last reviewed on 2 October 2026.
